This catheter may be used in a routine medical procedure that facilitates direct drainage of the urinary bladder.

Catheters can be inserted as an in-and-out procedure for immediate drainage, left with a self-retaining device for drainage for the short term (eg, during surgery), or left for long-term drainage for patients with chronic urinary retention.

The urethral catheter has a smooth, round-shaped, closed thermoplastic tip. Surface frozen tubing for extremely smooth intubation.
